This registry serves as a permanent record of the coaches whose leadership, character, and success have set the standard for Vermont athletics. Hall of Fame: Nomination & Selection
The Vermont Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made a lasting impact on the game. We invite our community to help us preserve the legacy of our sport by nominating deserving candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for induction, candidates must have served as a head coach in Vermont for a minimum of 10 years. Active coaches with 20+ years of experience are eligible for nomination.
The Nomination Process
The journey to the Hall of Fame begins with a formal nomination.
Selection: Nominations meeting this deadline will be considered for the following year’s induction class.
Open Nomination: A candidate may be nominated by anyone within the basketball community.
Verification: The Executive Director handles all inquiries regarding procedures and officially logs/dates all received nominations.
Notification: Once a nomination is logged, the Executive Director notifies the Hall of Fame Chair to begin the review process.
Submission Deadline: The third Monday of December.
Mandatory Requirements
For a nomination to be officially brought before the Hall of Fame Committee for consideration, the following documentation must be completed:
Letter of Recommendation: A one-to-two page formal letter from the sponsor detailing the candidate’s impact.
Nomination Form: A completed Hall of Fame Nomination Form which includes the following –
Contact Information: Full name, address, and phone number for both the Nominee and the Sponsor.
Relationship: A clear statement of the sponsor’s relationship to the nominee.
Coaching Achievements & Reason for Nomination: To ensure a comprehensive review by the committee, nominations should provide a clear and detailed account of the candidate’s career. Please include the following elements:
Career Overview: A complete timeline of the nominee’s coaching tenure, including total years active and all schools/programs served.
Records & Milestones: A summary of career win-loss records, conference titles, state championships, and notable postseason appearances.
Honors & Recognition: A list of awards received, such as Coach of the Year honors, Hall of Fame inductions, or community service awards.
Legacy & Impact: A narrative detailing the nominee’s influence beyond the scoreboard—focusing on leadership, character development, and their lasting contribution to the Vermont basketball community.
